More about Sharron
Sharron started teaching Mental Health First Aid because in any given year, one-in-four UK adults experience a mental health concern. Sharron was one of those one-in-four.
With a career spanning almost 30 years teaching in the Health and Fitness industry, Sharron is a natural empathetic motivator, utilising coaching skills and conversation to embed positive change on a daily basis.
Physical health is one thing, but mental health, despite being something which can dramatically impact and affect someone’s life, is an often overlooked part of a person’s wellbeing. Sharron has experienced first-hand the effects of mental illness on quality of life, happiness, and ultimately health.
Sharron says “One thing which I can say is apparent, we typically define health in a very specific way. Yes, we can look at someone that appears to be in good physical condition, who eats well, maintains a level of fitness, and apparently avoids illness or medical complications. Yet in doing so we are missing a huge piece of the puzzle? The problem is that it’s often not easy to see. If someone breaks a leg, it easy to see they need help and support, but what if it is their mind that is broken. Who sees that? Who is there to help? I'd love that person to be YOU.”
